Speed Limits
The speed limit is 70 mph when entering Minnesota from Iowa. This is Iowa's speed limit as well. It remains 70 mph all the way up to the I-35W/I-35E split in Burnsville. From the I-35W/I-35E in Columbus (Near Forest Lake) to Exit 249 it is 70 mph. It drops to 55 mph until Exit 256A, where it drops again to 50 mph. Right before the freeway ends, it is marked 40 mph, which is what MN-61 is marked for the first mile.
